MOVE OVER AL, PATENT ATTORNEY INVENTED INTERNET
A California patent lawyer sued Network Solutions and Register.com, claiming that issuance of ".name" domains violates his patent. If the claim is allowed, several commentators fear it would effectively give him rights to the Internet naming system.
CNET's report states that the patent issued Dec. 30, 2003 covers the assignment of email addresses using the "@" symbol.
