WHAT IS IN YOUR TRASH CAN HURT YOU
[from InfoWorld] Disposing of IT Assets. Would you throw your wallet with credit cards into the trash? Of course not. Businesses are finding out, however, that their employees may be throwing out used IT asssets (computers, cell phones, Blackberry) that contain confidential information. Data security is a must in today's age of identity theft, corporate espionage, and computer hacking -- remember, throwing a hard drive into the trash is not final. Someone, somewhere may find that information useful and put a practitioner into an ethical quandry.
