The Gripe with Stripes

Adidas America Inc. may have a future tiff with zebras. An article in The Portland Business Journal reports that Adidas has sued Polo Ralph Lauren Corp. in U.S. District Court in Portland for trademark infringement because they believe that a Polo jacket bearing two stripes on the sleeve too closely resembles an Adidas jacket having three stripes.
This suit follows a suit filed earlier this year against the U.S. Polo Association, as reported in PHOSITA, for producing a shoe having two stripes as well as a suit against Vision Sports, Inc. for producing a shoe having four stripes.
These suits beg the question- will zebras be next?
