Competition for Kid Inventors

Are you a kid inventor?  Do you know a kid inventor?

If so, here's a contest for you!

Xerox is sponsoring a competition which will reward kids with inventions that offer potential for mass marketing.  The "Chester Award," named after the inventor of xerography, will be given for the first time this year.

The contest is open to 5 to 19 year olds.  Innovative ideas for toys, games, sporting goods and other products are encouraged.  Winners will see their invention in the marketplace.

The number of grand prize winners depends on the number of marketable entries.  Each grand prize winner will get a licensing contract, legal support to patent the invention, expertise in marketing the product, and $1,000 worth of Xerox technology.  Each winner also gets $1,000 in prize value for a supporting teacher.

10,000 second place winners will receive a T-shirt.

Entries are due December 15, 2004, and can be submitted at By Kids For Kids.
