genzyme in-licenses Genetic Technologies patents

Genzyme Corp. in Cambridge has secured a license from an Australian company to gain access to its human genetic testing technology.
Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Genzyme will pay Genetic Technologies Limited of Melbourne a signing fee and an annual fee to use a number of its patents regarding research, pre-clinical and commercial genetic testing.
Genzyme can use the technology in the United States, Europe and Japan. Genetic Technologies will keep rights to the tests in the Asia-Pacific region.
